What can I do with Fishskin?

Luxurious and unique, the unmistakable texture of this natural material amps the sophistication of any look - without feeling OTT.

It is amazing for adding textural interest to simple designs and looks great on a simple ballet flat or a pump. As it is such a statement material, try to avoid mixing it with too many other textures or patterns.

We have two kinds of Fishskin in our range, a regular Fishskin and a glazed Fishskin. The glazed Fishskin has a coating on it that means the material is going to be less porous and will be less affected by getting wet. You can identify these Fishskins as they use the word “shiny” in their title.

The non-glazed Fishskin lightens in colour slightly over time. You can slow this process by making sure that you store the shoes out of direct sunlight.

With this porous material, we definitely recommend waterproofing your new shoes right out of the box. Also, it is worth remembering that due to the smaller size of the skin, seams will be shown on any larger areas of the shoes such as a closed toe.
